This trial tests an experimental drug called XBD173 to see if it can reduce blood vessel inflammation and lower pressure in the lungs of people with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). If you have a PAH diagnosis, are on two or more PAH medications, and already have a heart and lung monitor implanted, this study may be an option for you.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have a specific type of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) – either idiopathic, heritable, related to connective tissue disease, or caused by certain drugs or a repaired heart defect.
  • You are taking at least two PAH medications and have been on the same doses for at least one month.
  • You already have a heart rhythm monitor and a pulmonary artery pressure monitor implanted.
  • You are willing to have a genetic test to check for genes that might affect the study drug.
