Studying a new stroke device for large blood clots

Acute Ischemic Stroke

Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have had a recent stroke (within 24 hours) that is disabling (NIHSS score > 6)
  • Have a confirmed blockage in a large artery in the brain (like the internal carotid artery or the middle cerebral artery)
  • Meet specific brain scan criteria based on how long ago your stroke started (0-6 hours or 6-24 hours)
  • No evidence of bleeding in the brain on a CT or MRI scan
  • Not have other serious conditions that would make the procedure risky, like severe allergies, kidney failure, or uncontrolled high blood pressure
