MRI study of atrial scarring and stroke risk

StrokeImplantation of an Implantable Cardiac Monitor

Who can take part

  • You have had a stroke within the last 30 days that doctors cannot explain
  • You are scheduled to get a small heart monitor (loop recorder) placed within 3 months to check for hidden irregular heartbeats
  • You do not have a history of atrial fibrillation or take blood thinners long-term
  • You do not have severe kidney problems, claustrophobia, or metal implants that prevent an MRI
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or under legal guardianship
