Who can take part

  • You are age 40 or older
  • Your stroke happened within the last 2 weeks
  • Your stroke severity score (NIHSS) is 16 or lower
  • Your stroke was confirmed as ischemic by CT or MRI
  • You were independent before the stroke (mRS 0–1)
  • You can safely have the required MRI scans and give consent
