Who can take part
- You are 18 to 85 years old and currently in the hospital.
- You have a hospital-acquired pneumonia (lung infection from being in the hospital) or a bloodstream infection caused by a hard-to-treat bacteria called CRE.
- You have a positive test (like a culture or rapid test) showing CRE in your lungs or blood within the last 5 days.
- Your illness severity score (APACHE II) is between 10 and 30.
- You have not received more than 2 days of a similar antibiotic (polymyxin) in the last 72 hours.
