Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have tried at least two standard treatments (like physical therapy, painkillers, or muscle relaxants) for at least 3 months each, and they didn't work.
  • You have evidence of disc degeneration on an MRI, or a back pain disability score of 21-80%, or a pain score above 5 out of 10.
  • You do not have a history of cancer in the last 5 years, active infections, serious kidney or liver problems, uncontrolled diabetes or high blood pressure, or a body mass index (BMI) over 40.
  • You are willing to use birth control during the study (if applicable) and not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have not had gene therapy in the past or used an experimental drug in the last 30 days.
