Gut nerve stimulation study for high-risk newborns

Who can take part

  • Your baby must be born before 30 weeks of pregnancy, or have a condition called congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH).
  • Your baby must be born at Amalia Children's Hospital or be admitted there within the first day of life.
  • Your baby must not have had severe oxygen deprivation at birth (low Apgar score and pH).
  • Your baby must not have major birth defects other than CDH, or a metabolic disease needing a special diet.
  • Both parents or guardians must give written permission for the baby to join the study.
