Who can take part
- You must be having a stem cell transplant from a related donor who is a close match (8/8 HLA markers).
- You must have a history of CMV (cytomegalovirus), verified by a blood test showing antibodies.
- Your cancer must be one of these types: lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, certain leukemias, chronic myelogenous leukemia, or myeloproliferative disorders (NOT multiple myeloma).
- Your heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys must be working well enough, as shown by standard tests.
- The donor cannot have certain health issues like sickle cell disease, heart disease, or active infections such as HIV or hepatitis.
