Who can take part

  • You must be 18 to 64 years old.
  • You must have type 1 diabetes for at least 6 months.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) must be 21 or higher.
  • Your kidney function (eGFR) must be between 30 and 90, and you must have some protein in your urine (UACR between 50 and 3000).
  • You must be willing to manage your own insulin therapy and check your blood sugar regularly.
  • You cannot have had severe low blood sugar (coma/seizure) or diabetic ketoacidosis recently.
