Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are being treated for a solid tumor or blood cancer.
  • You have a fever (temperature of 38.3°C or higher, or 38°C twice within an hour) with low white blood cells (under 500/mm³).
  • Your low white blood cell count is expected to last 7 days or more.
  • You have not taken antibiotics in the last 24 hours (except for certain preventive antibiotics like Cotrimoxazole or Oracillin®).
  • You agree to participate and can provide consent.
