Who can take part

  • You are between 50 and 70 years old.
  • You have a high-risk form of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) that is in remission.
  • You do not have a matched sibling donor, but you have a matched unrelated donor (10 out of 10 HLA match).
  • You are healthy enough for a transplant: your heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver are working well, and you have no uncontrolled infections.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or have had cancer in the last 5 years (except for some skin cancers).
