Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease for more than 5 years.
  • Your Parkinson's symptoms clearly improve when you take levodopa medication.
  • You are a candidate for deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the subthalamic nucleus (STN).
  • You do not have severe memory or thinking problems, or a serious mental health condition.
  • You do not have any condition that would make brain surgery unsafe.
