Theta brain stimulation to boost thinking in Parkinson's

This study tests whether a special pattern of deep brain stimulation (called theta bursts) can improve thinking and memory in people with Parkinson's disease. It's for patients who already have a DBS device in their brain that is at least 3 months old.

Who can take part

  • You have a deep brain stimulator (DBS) placed in the subthalamic nucleus (STN).
  • You had brain scans before and after your DBS surgery.
  • It has been at least 3 months since your DBS surgery.
  • You can complete computer-based thinking tasks (no language problems or dementia).
  • You have not had any serious complications from DBS.
