New MRI scan to tell tumor from radiation damage

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and can lie still for 30 minutes in an MRI scanner.
  • You have a brain tumor (glioma, metastasis, or meningioma) that has not been treated with surgery or radiation before, or you have a brain tumor that may have come back or developed radiation necrosis after prior radiation.
  • Your general health is good enough that you can take care of yourself (ECOG performance status 0-2).
  • Your doctor expects you to live longer than 6 months.
  • You do not have any metal in your body that is not safe for MRI (like certain clips, pacemakers, or shrapnel).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
