Who can take part

  • You have advanced non-small cell lung cancer (stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV) that cannot be removed by surgery.
  • Your cancer has the EGFR L858R mutation (a specific change in the EGFR gene).
  • You have not had any previous cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy.
  • You have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
  • You are 18 years or older and able to care for yourself (ECOG score 0–3).
  • Your blood counts, liver, and kidney function are within certain limits.
