Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for major spine surgery where blood loss is expected to be more than 25% of your total blood volume.
  • Your health status is classified as ASA 1, 2, or 3.
  • You can understand and sign a consent form. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian can do this.
  • Your surgery is not for a genetic syndrome or neuromuscular scoliosis.
  • Your surgery is scheduled during laboratory working hours.
