Testing acetyl-L-carnitine in early ALS

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and have a confirmed ALS diagnosis (based on the Gold Coast criteria).
  • Your ALS symptoms began less than 24 months ago.
  • You can still swallow, feed yourself, and walk (with or without help).
  • Your lung function is good, with an FVC test result of 80% or more of normal.
  • You have been taking riluzole for at least 4 weeks.
