Who can take part

  • Your child is between 6 and 17 years old
  • Your child has a normal weight, is overweight, or is obese for their age and sex
  • Your child is having a surgery that requires paracetamol (a pain reliever) given through an IV
  • Your child has not taken any paracetamol in the 24 hours before the study starts
  • Your child does not have certain health conditions like anemia, liver or kidney problems, Gilbert's disease, type 2 diabetes, or a major disability
  • Your child is not taking specific medicines that affect how the body processes paracetamol
