  • You have had nerve pain for more than 3 months.
  • Your pain has been at least moderate in the past week (4 or more on a 0–10 scale).
  • You do not have severe depression or bipolar disorder.
  • You are able to have an fMRI brain scan (no metal implants, pacemaker, or other metal in your body).
