- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have had atrial fibrillation that is persistent for more than 1 year.
- Your left atrium (a heart chamber) is less than 6 cm in size.
- You are able to give written consent to join the study.

- You do not have a reversible cause of AF, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or significant valve disease.
