Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have atrial fibrillation (AF) that has lasted more than 7 days.
- You have a higher risk of stroke (CHA2DS2-VASc score of 2 or more).
- You also have at least one of the following: you cannot take blood thinners safely, you had a stroke despite taking blood thinners, you have a high bleeding risk, or you choose not to take blood thinners long-term.
- You have not had a prior catheter ablation for AF.
- Your left atrium is not severely enlarged (smaller than 60 mm on an echo).
- Your AF has not lasted more than 10 years.
- You are not scheduled for heart surgery, and you do not have a blood clot in your heart.
