Who can take part
- You must have nasopharyngeal cancer that has come back or spread to other parts of your body.
- You cannot have had any prior chemotherapy or other cancer treatment for the recurrent or metastatic disease. (Previous chemo or radiation as part of your first treatment is okay if the cancer came back more than 6 months later.)
- You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
- You must be in generally good health (able to do daily activities with little or no help) and have adequate blood counts, liver, and kidney function.
- You must have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan and has not been recently treated with local therapy.
