Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are currently sedated and have been on a breathing machine (ventilator) for at least 48 hours.
  • You are receiving the pain medication morphine.
  • Your sedation level is deep (RASS score of -2 or lower).
  • You have no history of epilepsy or severe brain injury (such as a stroke or head trauma).
  • You do not have any metal in your head or electronic implants (like a pacemaker or brain stimulator).
