Comparing one-step vs. two-step valve placement for severe emphysema

Who can take part

  • You are between 35 and 80 years old.
  • You have severe emphysema (a type of COPD) confirmed by a recent CT scan (within 6 months).
  • You quit smoking at least 3 months ago.
  • You have significant shortness of breath (score of 2 or more on a standard questionnaire).
  • Your lung function tests show certain specific levels of air trapping and breathing capacity.
  • You have not had any lung surgery or valve procedure on the side being treated.
