  • You are scheduled for a first-time total knee replacement.
  • You can provide written permission to be in the study.
  • You do not have an allergy to local anesthetics or any drugs used in the study.
  • You do not have any reason that would prevent you from receiving regional anesthesia.
  • You are not currently taking strong painkillers like opioids on a regular basis.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or lower.
