Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You are scheduled for a knee replacement on one side only.
  • You are not taking blood thinners (like warfarin, apixaban, rivaroxaban, or heparin).
  • You do not have diabetes that requires insulin.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or a history of easy bleeding.
  • You are not allergic to numbing medicines used in blocks (local anesthetics).
