Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • Your overall health is stable (you are considered ASA I, II, or III).
  • You are having knee replacement surgery with spinal anesthesia (numbing your lower body).
  • You can understand the study and agree to participate.
  • You do not have an active infection where the injection will be given.
  • You do not have a bleeding problem, severe low blood volume, or an allergy to the numbing medicines used.
