Who can take part
- You have a type of head and neck cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) that is not linked to HPV, including cancers of the mouth, voice box, throat, or lower throat.
- Your cancer is locally advanced (stage III or IVB) and can be removed with surgery.
- You are between 18 and 74 years old.
- You have not had any other anti-cancer treatments before.
- Your overall health is good (KPS score of 70 or higher) and your blood work, liver, and kidney function are within certain limits.
- You are not pregnant and are willing to use effective contraception during treatment and for 3 months after.
