Who can take part
- You are 18 or older
- You have acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) that is new, relapsed, or not responding to treatment
- You are not a candidate for standard strong chemotherapy, or you have chosen not to take it
- Your kidneys and liver are working well enough based on blood tests
- You are able to walk and do daily activities (even if you need some rest)
- You have not had any other cancer treatment in the last 2 weeks
