Who can take part

  • Your prostate cancer must have come back only in the prostate area after your first radiation treatment.
  • It has been at least 2 years since your first round of radiation therapy.
  • You are in good overall health and able to care for yourself (Zubrod score 0–1).
  • The recurrence is confirmed by a biopsy, or by MRI and PET-PSMA scans along with rising PSA levels.
  • The cancer has not spread to lymph nodes or other organs, and if it has spread a little, it can still be treated with local therapies.
  • You have not had brachytherapy (internal radiation seeds) before, and you do not have severe urinary symptoms or other conditions that could affect the safety of the new radiation.
