COPD: Breathing Muscle Strength and Flexibility Study

Who can take part

  • Your COPD must be classified as GOLD group C or D (often meaning more severe or more symptoms).
  • You must have been on the same COPD medications for at least 4 weeks before the study.
  • You cannot have any other lung disease besides COPD (like asthma or severe emphysema).
  • You must not have had a COPD flare-up (sudden worsening) in the last 4 weeks.
  • You cannot have any major bone, joint, nerve, or heart problems that might affect the testing.
  • You must be willing to have measurements taken on your chest and upper body (no excess fat at the measurement sites).
