If you are 65 or older, staying in the hospital for more than a week, and able to follow simple instructions, this might be a good fit.

Who can take part

  • You are 65 years old or older.
  • You expect to stay in the hospital for more than 7 days.
  • You can follow instructions and answer basic questions like your name and where you are.
  • Your arm and leg muscles are strong enough to move against light resistance (at least level 3 out of 5), and your grip strength is at least 26 kg for men or 18 kg for women.
  • You do not have serious heart conditions like a recent heart attack, unstable angina, or poorly controlled heart rhythm.
  • You have not been hospitalized for a recent stroke, epilepsy, or Parkinson's disease, and you do not have Alzheimer's or other cognitive impairment.
