Who can take part

  • You are African American or Black.
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are feeling depressed and score at least 5 on a short depression questionnaire (PHQ-9).
  • You have a mobile phone (smartphone or basic cell phone).
  • You are not currently in talk therapy for depression.
  • You are not having thoughts of suicide right now.
  • If you take medication for depression, you have been on the same medication for at least 3 months.
