Who can take part
- Your child is between 3 and 17 years old.
- Your child is admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
- Your child has a primary diagnosis of severe asthma (called critical asthma).
- Your child is prescribed continuous breathing treatments or IV medicine for asthma, plus IV steroids.
- Your child does not have certain heart conditions, a tracheostomy, or other lung diseases like cystic fibrosis.
- Your child is not already taking azithromycin or similar antibiotics.
