  • You are 19 years old or older
  • You are scheduled to have a catheter-based procedure to close a hole in your heart (atrial septal defect or patent foramen ovale)
  • You have not been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heart rhythm) in the past, whether occasional, persistent, or long-term
  • Your doctor believes you have a life expectancy of at least 12 months
  • Your doctor thinks it is safe and appropriate for you to join
