AcuMark Balloon Study for Heart Hole Closure

Atrial Septal Defect (ASD)

  • You have a specific type of heart hole called a 'single secundum atrial septal defect' (a hole in the wall between the top chambers of the heart)
  • The shape and size of the hole is suitable for a procedure that closes it without open-heart surgery
  • You are already scheduled to have a procedure to close the hole
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are not currently in another research study that hasn't finished yet
