Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have an atrial septal defect (ASD) that your doctor thinks should be closed
  • Your heart team believes you could be treated with a device placed through the skin (not open surgery)
  • You do not have multiple ASDs (more than one hole) or a similar complex defect shape
  • You do not have other heart problems that would require open-heart surgery
