  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have a confirmed hole in the heart (PFO) with a moderate-to-large leak.
  • You have had a stroke or mini-stroke (TIA) thought to be caused by this hole.
  • You do not have other clear causes for the stroke or heart issues that require different treatment.
  • You can take blood-thinning medications like aspirin or clopidogrel.
