Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 80 years old.
  • Your physical status is ASA I, II, or III (generally healthy or with well-controlled medical conditions).
  • You are not allergic to lidocaine, dexmedetomidine, esmolol, or magnesium.
  • You do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure, advanced heart failure (ejection fraction below 35%), or certain heart rhythm problems.
  • You do not have severe kidney or liver disease.
  • You do not have a known brain condition or epilepsy.
