  • You must have sepsis (a serious infection that affects your whole body).
  • You may also have type 2 diabetes, but it's not required.
  • You must be 18 years old or older.
  • You cannot have a weak immune system or be taking steroids or immunosuppressant drugs.
  • You must be able to understand and sign a consent form.
