Who can take part

  • You are a woman who has gone through menopause (no period for at least 12 months, or your ovaries removed at least 2 weeks ago).
  • Your breast tumor measures at least 1 cm on ultrasound and has not spread to other parts of the body.
  • Your tumor tests positive for estrogen receptors (at least 10% of cells) and negative for HER2 protein.
  • You have not had any prior treatment for breast cancer (surgery, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, or radiation).
  • Your tumor has a Ki67 score of 10% or higher (a marker of how fast cancer cells are growing).
  • You are healthy enough for daily activities (ECOG score 0 or 1) and have adequate blood counts and organ function.
