CBD for Anxiety in Fragile X Syndrome

This trial tests if cannabidiol (CBD) can help with anxiety and improve brain function in people with Fragile X syndrome. Participants will receive CBD or a placebo, and may have brain scans (MRI) or magnetic stimulation (TMS) to see how it works.

Who can take part

  • You or your child must have a confirmed diagnosis of Fragile X syndrome (FXS) through genetic testing.
  • Age must be between 7 and 40 years old.
  • A behavioral checklist (ABC-C) score over 20 is needed, which a doctor can check.
  • You can be taking up to 3 psychiatric medications, but no changes to those medications in the last 3 months.
  • You cannot take valproic acid or clobazam, and must not have any liver problems or metal in your body (for MRI/TMS safety).
