This trial tests how beta-blockers affect your body's reaction to stress. You'll take a beta-blocker or placebo and then do a stress task, so researchers can measure inflammation and other responses.

Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 30 years old
- You are right-handed
- You speak, read, and write English at a 10th grade level or higher
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or less
- You do not have any metal implants or devices in your body
- You are not currently pregnant
- You have no history of fainting, heart conditions, low heart rate, or low blood pressure
- You do not have any of these illnesses: diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, autoimmune disease, Crohn's, colitis, or lupus
- You do not have any diagnosed mental illness
- You are not taking any prescription medications (except birth control pills)
- You do not currently use nicotine or tobacco products regularly
- You do not use recreational drugs daily or almost daily
