This study compares two lasers (holmium and thulium) used during mini PCNL surgery to remove kidney stones. If you are scheduled for this surgery and have a stone between 1 and 3 cm, you may be able to join and help doctors learn which laser works better.

Who can take part
- You are scheduled for a type of kidney stone surgery called 'mini PCNL' (a small tube goes into the kidney through your back).
- Your largest kidney stone is between 1 cm and 3 cm (about the size of a pea to a grape) on a CT scan done in the last 6 months.
- You are 21 years of age or older.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You do not have an untreated urinary tract infection, a bleeding disorder, or a history of chronic opioid use.
