  • You are having planned (not emergency) surgery.
  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You are generally healthy or have only mild health conditions (ASA I or II).
  • You are not using extra oxygen before surgery.
  • You do not have lung disease, liver or kidney problems, or a nerve or muscle condition.
  • You are not very overweight (BMI below 35).
