Who can take part

  • You must have a clear diagnosis of narcolepsy according to standard sleep disorder criteria.
  • Your sleepiness should not be caused by shift work, lack of sleep, or drug use.
  • You cannot have Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, or other serious nervous system or mental health disorders.
  • You must not have serious heart, lung, liver, kidney, or blood disease, or a recent infection.
  • You cannot have taken sedatives, sleeping pills, antidepressants, lithium, or dopamine-blocking drugs in the last two weeks.
  • You must be able to undergo sleep studies (PSG and MSLT) without problems.
