Who can take part
- You have laryngeal (voice box) cancer that returned or persisted after radiation or chemoradiation.
- Your cancer is a type called squamous cell carcinoma.
- Before your initial treatment, your cancer was stage cT1, cT2, or cT3 (with or without lymph node involvement).
- Before your current surgery, your cancer is stage rcT1, rcT2, or selected cT3/cT4a (with or without lymph node involvement).
- You are scheduled to have a total laryngectomy (removal of the voice box) that does not require removing part of the throat.
- You are at least 18 years old and able to sign consent forms.
