Pyrophosphate study in children with kidney disease

Who can take part

  • You are under 18 years old
  • You or your parent can sign a consent form, and you are covered by health insurance
  • You do NOT have an active cancer or a quickly worsening kidney disease
  • You are not on medications like bisphosphonates that affect pyrophosphate (or you can stop them safely)
  • You either have healthy kidneys (and are having routine surgery), or have been on dialysis for over 3 months, or have a kidney transplant, or have chronic kidney disease (any cause)
