Who can take part

  • Your baby has been diagnosed with acute bronchiolitis (a common lung infection in infants that causes coughing and trouble breathing).
  • Your baby has been on a high-flow nasal cannula (a special breathing tube in the nose) for at least 12 hours.
  • When off the high-flow tube and breathing room air, your baby’s oxygen level is 95% or higher.
  • The flow of oxygen through the tube is low (2 liters per kilogram per minute or less).
  • The doctors think your baby is ready to try stopping the high-flow tube.
