Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have been on high-flow nasal cannula for at least 12 hours because of low oxygen levels and hard work breathing
  • Your medical team thinks it is safe to start weaning you off the high-flow oxygen
  • Your breathing and oxygen levels are stable (respiratory rate ≤25, oxygen saturation >90%, oxygen setting ≤80%)
  • You are not on a breathing machine or ECMO, and you do not need continuous inhaled medicines through the nasal cannula
